ABOUT FAMILY LAW CASA
Since 2002, Family Law CASA has advocated for children in contentious family law litigation by providing Court Appointed Special Advocates. Our work supports 160-180 kids per year from families navigating economic injustice in King County. For more information, please visit our website at familylawcasa.org.

THE ROLE
Family Law CASA is seeking a contract attorney to work approximately 5-10 hours a week on an as-needed basis. The contract attorney represents the volunteer advocate at trial and the CASA program at hearings and pre-trial conferences. We are looking for an attorney with family law experience who is committed to racial equity and is passionate about our mission.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Appear in court (trials, hearings, and pre-trial conferences) in a limited role.
Review all documents related to case in preparation for court appearances.
Prepare advocates to testify at trial.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Two years prior family law experience
Prior knowledge of/experience with Family Law CASA’s work preferred
A desire to appear in court and work in family law
The ability to work with volunteers in a supportive and professional manner
Flexibility in availability to appear in court
Established high-quality reputation with the court
Demonstrated ability to adequately prepare for court and communicate effectively and respectfully with the court
FORMAL EDUCATION
Juris Doctorate and active member of the Washington State Bar Association in good standing.
