Company Overview
PSEA is a professional and labor organization representing over 180,000 members. The majority of our members are public school employees. PSEA also represents employees in private schools, colleges and universities, correctional facilities and health care institutions, retired employees, and students preparing for employment in education or health care. PSEA has been an advocate for excellence in education since 1852.
PSEA’s legal staff is comprised of a General Counsel, an Assistant General Counsel, thirteen staff attorneys, five associate staff counsel, thirteen support staff, and four retained counsel located across the state. The PSEA Legal Division provides advice and counsel to all aspects of the organization and engages in litigation concerning issues of statewide importance. PSEA attorneys specialize in labor and education law, and practice before arbitrators, state and federal courts, and various state and federal agencies, including the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board, the Professional Standards and Practices Commission, the Pennsylvania School Employees’ Retirement Board, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
